Together, We Preserve America’s Story
The Preserving America program is a philanthropic initiative designed to empower historical organizations to preserve, promote, and sustain the stories, places, and people that shaped our nation. Through grants, strategic partnerships, and professional development opportunities, Preserving America helps organizations strengthen their impact, engage new audiences, and build a foundation for long-term success. Whether restoring historic structures, expanding educational programs, improving visitor experiences, enhancing marketing efforts, or developing sustainable revenue strategies, Preserving America provides the resources, mentorship, and collaborative network needed to help organizations thrive. Since its launch in 2022, the program has supported hundreds of projects nationwide, helping historical organizations preserve America’s story for future generations.

Through the Preserving America program, Americana Corner is committed to helping historical organizations safeguard our nation’s legacy while building the tools, resources, and resilience needed to inspire future generations. Grants
The Preserving America Grant program support a wide range of initiatives, including preservation and restoration projects, exhibits and interpretive signage, educational programming, websites, videos, visitor engagement efforts, and other initiatives that expand public access to history. By investing in meaningful projects across the country, the program helps organizations bring America’s story to life while strengthening their ability to serve their communities. Applications are accepted from November 15 through December 15, and recipients are announced each year on George Washington’s birthday (February 22).
Partners
The Preserving America Partners program is an invitation-only initiative designed for organizations seeking more than project-based support. The program supports transformative, multi-year projects at historical organizations dedicated to preserving and interpreting America’s story. Designed to help organizations expand programming, launch new initiatives, strengthen fundraising efforts, and increase public engagement, the Partners program empowers sites to pursue ambitious goals while building long-term sustainability.
Conference
The Preserving America Conference, presented in partnership with the American Battlefield Trust, brings together leaders from historical sites, battlefields, and preservation organizations for a multi-day conference focused on organizational growth and sustainability. Designed specifically for small and mid-sized organizations, the program encourages the sharing of ideas, best practices, and innovative approaches to preservation, education, fundraising, and community engagement, creating a network of organizations united by a common commitment to preserving America’s heritage.
